Celebrating Our 3rd Anniversary at Willow, W Kuala Lumpur

CELEBRATING OUR 3RD ANNIVERSARY AT WILLOW, W KUALA LUMPUR
Guess what~ #KenShiBigDay is 3 years old now! We are celebrating our third anniversary at Willow, W Kuala LumpurIt was just a simple lunch with 3-course meals. There's no need to have a special celebration because every day with him is a special day ❤️

About Willow

Nestled in the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur and located within the 5-star W Kuala Lumpur Hotel is Willow KL; a vividly brilliant restaurant and bar that pairs mouth-watering delights in concert with live music - the ideal venue for any elevated social engagement, be it an intimate occasion or celebratory event.

Like the Willow warbler - which is one of the world's longest migratory birds, the food and drink at Willow KL are not restricted to any specific region or category of sustenance. That limitless freedom to create is the very motivation for Head Chef Lroy Lim's innovative menu - which unites ingredients from across the globe and furnishes the flavours into joyous dishes and beverages which are exclusive to Willow KL.

One of their signatures would be the beautiful purple flowers on the ceiling. It's all over the place and they are so pretty!

Check out these photos that we took at the restaurant. Beautiful isn't it? The flowers or me? Hahaha.

This restaurant is definitely instaworthy. Just that if you're seating where we were, you might feel a bit hot as the table is so close to the window.

Okay, another one lol.

Close up of the flowers.

Additionally, the restaurant and bar are the namesakes of a bird which is distinguished by its song. With that in mind, the ambience of Willow KL is an orchestration of sounds from the lounge act and harmonised through its visually elegant interior as well as a perfect backdrop of the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers.

Speak of the twin towers, their poolside view is even better! You can see the KLCC up close!

Lunch Courses

For beverages, hubby ordered a cup of black coffee.

While I had ordered an Earl Grey tea. The teapot is very oriental. I told my hubby it makes me look like I'm ordering a pu'er or oolong tea something hahaha.

Complimentary
Slices of bread come with butter. We always love to eat this kind of sourdough bread. Crispy on the outside and soft inside.

Amuse Bouche
Served with fried chicken and truffle mayo. They paired well together.

Appetizer | Hamachi
Served with citrus-cured Hamachi, buttermilk, dill, chives and pear. Love the freshness of the fish. The sweetness of the pear brings up the flavour. Don't forget to dip your fish slice in the sauce because it's appetizing!

Cauliflower Soup
Hubby's appetizer was cauliflower soup, almond, grapes and roasted cauliflower.

We ate cauliflower almost every day but don't know cauliflower can be such decent.

Main Course | Black Angus
For the main course, hubby ordered black Angus. Served with beef striploin, oxtail, shallot, onion soubise, and pickled pearl onion. The temperature is medium. So far he likes it. This is on the menu but requires additional charges of RM40.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi
For me, I had chosen my favourite sweet potato gnocchi. Gnocchi, black truffle, porcini mushrooms, and hazelnut. I like everything in this dish! The gnocchi texture was perfect. The aroma of the truffle was strong. Porcini mushrooms were delicious. Not to mention that portion just right.

Upon visiting this restaurant, we already requested a message for our anniversary. We thought the chef will write it on the plate like the normal restaurant did. Surprisingly, the chef wrote on a piece of chocolate instead, covered with gold powder.

Dessert | Blueberry
We ordered 2 kinds of desserts. The first one was served with blueberry, buttermilk, and brown butter. I'm not a fan of sweet desserts and this is just right for me. Love the sourness of the blueberry. It is very refreshing, especially after a heavy meal.

Banoffee
The second dessert was banoffee. Served with coffee, banana, soy caramel, muscovado sugar, and oats. I didn't really try this as I'm not a fan of bananas and this dessert comes with a strong aroma of bananas. But since hubby loves bananas so he finishes it all.

Cost
2-courses : RM95
3-courses : RM125

Last but not least, happy 3rd anniversary of our marriage. We had a pleasant meal here and we will definitely revisit this place. Probably for their afternoon tea or dinner. Don't forget to check out the vlog below.
