Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan 大阪海游馆

Finally, pay my visit to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan (大阪海游馆) during our visit to Osaka. Ticked off another bucket list! Always want to visit the popular aquarium and I finally made it! The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is an aquarium located in the ward of Minato in Osaka, Japan, near Osaka Bay. It is one of the largest public aquariums in the world and is a member of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

For your info, Kaiyukan is one of Japan's most spectacular aquariums, world-renowned for its innovative presentation. Kaiyukan shows the aquatic animals of the Pacific Rim at their most vibrant and dynamic, by recreating the natural environment of their habitats.

After finished our brunch which located nearby, we walk to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan (located opposite of the cafe). You can spot the huge Ferris wheel before you reach the aquarium entrance.

After 10 minutes of walking, we had arrived at the Kaiyukan. You can purchase your entrance tickets at the counter.

Bear in mind that there are the different packages for the tickets. For us, we just purchase a single ticket to the Kaiyukan.

We are so excited to meet the greatest whale shark! I never saw one in my life and we are looking forward to it.

Kaiyukan is confident that the encounter with 30,000 creatures encompassing 620 species including otters, sea lions, penguin, dolphins, whale sharks, rays and jellyfish, to name just a few. It will prove a deeply rewarding experience.

When we are watching the adorable dolphin swimming here and there, those kids saying they are so cute! It was quite hard to take a great photo of them when the aquarium is full of kids and they keep running around. Lol.

The seal was so cute especially the one with the black spot. They keep turning a circle repeatedly. (You can check them out in my travel vlog below)

At Kaiyukan, there are over 15 large tanks, each recreating a specific region of the Pacific Rim, taking visitors on a virtual tour of the Pacific Ocean.

The tanks include, "Japan Forest", which recreates a sunlit, beautiful Japanese forest; the icy, snow-clad "Antarctica", and the centerpiece of the aquarium, "Pacific Ocean", a 9m deep, 34m long tank containing 5,400 tons of water, serving as the home of whale sharks, the largest fish species in the world.

This spot is so instaworthy. Some of my readers DM me asking where did I take these beautiful photos. Well, now you know.

Finally, we saw the huge and beautiful whale shark! Oh my god, it was so HUGE! By looking at the photo above, you might think it was not that big. Watch my travel vlog then you will know how big it is!

To enjoy the roughly 2.5 hours trip around the Pacific, take the spiral ramp all the way from the 8th floor to the 4th floor, leaving the land of terrestrial animals to find yourself stepping into the sea all the way to the ocean floor, discovering marine life from a multitude of perspectives, from huge schools of fish to the wonderfully strange world of the deep sea.

If you are lucky enough to be there during feeding times, you can also watch the captivating behaviour of marine animals as they engage in unique training sessions designed to help them stay healthy.

While my fiance busies taking a photo of me, this fish keep took a peep of what we are doing. Since it was so cute, so fiance decided to take the photo of us together.

I keep telling fiance this fish's tail looks like a dumpling and I saw his mouth open widely. Therefore, when I recording a video for instastory, I keep doing the sound of "Ahhhh...". Some of the readers DM saying I made their day. Lol.

Fiance took this photo and I just realize I look like a ghost here. Suit the Halloween theme I guess.

This view looks SPECTACULAR! When everyone passing by this section, everyone is stop and take a photo / record a video of it. It was so beautiful. If you're looking at it in real life, it was even look more amazing.

To be honest, I don't know what species of this fish, I even can't remember its name. But my fiance keeps asking me to take a photo of it because he finds it adorable. And they keep looking up don't know why.

Many visitors to Kaiyukan leave inspired by its stimulating and interactive new exhibition area, a space designed to offer sensory experiences of the natural environment, including touching sharks. The new exhibition area proposes one of the shapes to come of aquariums.
