Tokyo DisneySea Guide

Hooray! Finally, I got to visit Tokyo DisneySea! As mentioned earlier in the previous post, I don't get the chance to visit Tokyo DisneySea last time because eventually, I had chosen Disneyland. Well, another bucket list ticked off now! The whole journey was accompanied by the one and the only bf makes the memories more precious. For your info, DisneySea is the only one in the whole world which located in Japan, you can't find it elsewhere. As usual, I will talk about attractions/shows, foods and some guidance in this post.

Tokyo DisneySea is a fantasy theme park in Tokyo Disney Resort that is unique to Japan. Inspired by the myths and legends of the sea, Tokyo DisneySea is made up of seven themed ports of call: Mediterranean Harbor, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery and American Waterfront.

While suitable for all ages, Tokyo DisneySea was designed to specifically also appeal to a more grown-up audience. The park addresses the Japanese visitors' strong interest in good food by providing a wider selection of table service restaurants than Tokyo Disneyland and by serving alcoholic beverages, which are unavailable at the neighbouring park.

I personally think DisneySea is more suitable for young adults because their games are more intense. Of course, there are some games that suitable for the kids as well. I will talk about the attractions and games below.

ATTRACTIONS

Toy Story Mania

Go in through Woody's wide open mouth and you'll find that you've shrunk to the size of a toy! A great time playing the carnival games set up under Andy's bed is waiting for you!

It was actually our favourite game of DisneySea! Although we had queued total 80 minutes for this game. However, it was totally worth it!

Toy Story has been one of my favourite cartoons since I was a kid. By looking at this deco, feeling so excited and happy at the same time.

This photo has been taken during our queue. You might notice my fiance was looking exhausted because he was going around to find a Little Alien popcorn bag for me! Little Alien was my favourite character in Toy Story and he was trying his best to find it for me after we saw a few Japanese are holding it. However, we can't manage to find in the end. I guess it depends on the special season. Feeling a bit disappointed but I'm feeling touch about fiance actually spend time and effort to searching it for me.

Mermaid Lagoon

Mermaid Lagoon allows surface dwellers to enter the undersea world of Ariel and her fishy friends from The Little Mermaid. This whimsical area of the park with its rides and shows is geared toward younger children.

You can spot the beautiful Mermaid Lagoon from far away. These colourful and beautiful sculptures really attractive! Among all the Disney princess, Ariel was my favourite.

When you step in, you can find there are several games in the house. Jellyfish and seashell cup etc. Since we are rushing for the concert, we didn't manage to play them.

As mentioned earlier, Ariel was my favourite Disney princess, so of course, I bought her phone case as a souvenir! Looking great on my phone now.

Mermaid Lagoon Theater (King Triton's Concert)

A musical concert is about to start in the kingdom under the sea but Ariel, the star of the show, is nowhere to be found… Ariel, who dreams of becoming human, will enchant you with popular songs from Disney’s The Little Mermaid such as “Part of Your World” and “Under the Sea.” Enjoy this brand new show with music, visuals, and dynamic performances! Strongly recommended to you guys!

Scuttle's Scooters

The colourful hermit crabs seat two, and they take you for a spinning ride around Scuttle, who's watching you from above. He's looking through his trusty telescope, making sure everybody's having a great time. Wait, isn't his telescope backwards!? It is suitable for family because it is not scary at all.

Raging Spirits

This is a high-speed rollercoaster attraction racing through the excavated ruins of an ancient ceremonial site. This thrilling ride will turn your world upside down. Fiance took this ride and he even took the first row with a kid! He said the ride was fun and not scary.

Arabian Coast

The Arabian Coast recreates the world of Aladdin and 1001 Arabian Nights. Here you can watch a magic show hosted by Genie or travel with Sinbad as he sets sail for discovery.

Oh look, I got a new pet! His name is Abu! Hahaha

Arabian Coast was one of my favourite theme in DisneySea. There are so many instaworthy spots here.

Jasmine's Flying Carpets

Themed to the Disney film Aladdin, this ride attraction lets you soar over Jasmine's garden on a "flying carpet." You can make your "carpet" go up and down or tilt it forward and backwards as if flying your own magical carpet.

The Magic Lamp Theater

The "greatest magician in the world," Shaban, presents his first solo performance without his partner, the popular Genie. So what happened to him? Find out as you take in this magical performance!

Fortress Explorations

Walk through the fortress and galleon and explore on your own. See exhibitions on the study of the planets and the earth's rotation, operate cannons, and various nautical instruments, and more.

Fortress Explorations was another favourite theme of mine. All the buildings here are so pretty! It makes you feeling like you're now in Santorini or something.

Don't forget to take as much photo as possible when you get up here. Trust me, it was totally worth it.

Nemo & Friends SeaRider

Boarding the SeaRider, a submersible that “shrinks” to the size of a fish, Guests will explore the wondrous world of marine life from the same point of view as Nemo and Dory. In addition to these characters, Guests have a chance to meet many of the other popular characters from Finding Dory including Destiny, the whale shark, and Hank, the octopus.

Turtle Talk'

Here, in the Undersea Observatory inside the S.S. Columbia, who do you see through the underwater window, but Crush the sea turtle, swimming happily through the open seas! This is a theatre-type attraction in which you can converse with Crush, so go on and talk to him. He loves having conversations. Not really suitable for us (Malaysian), unless you can understand the Japanese language.

FANTASMIC

We stayed until evening for the Fantasmic night show. Taking place at night on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor, this spectacular entertainment features Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice who creates a fantastic world of Disney through his powers of imagination. Filled with special effects using gigantic water screens, lasers, lights, and fire, this dramatic show promises an evening of unforgettable fantasy and excitement for all.

Characters from popular Disney films such as Aladdin and Cinderella appear on the huge water screens. And the climactic scene has Mickey fighting a gigantic dragon in this magical and dynamic nighttime spectacular in Mediterranean Harbor.

FOOD

Little Alien Dumpling

When I can't manage to find Little Alien Dumpling at Disneyland (the day before), I was so disappointed.

But then, I managed to find it at DisneySea! Hooray! It has three flavours - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. A MUST EAT whenever you're in Disneyland or DisneySea!

Cape Cod Cook-Off

We took our lunch at Cape Cod Cook-Off which is the Duffy theme kind of cafe. It is the village's annual cook-off, where locals gather to eat and decide whose recipes are best. The competition venue is at the Town Hall, a landmark with a white clock tower. Come to try the winning dish!

Cashbah Food Court

When we pay a visit to the Arabian Coast, we can spell the fragrance of curry everywhere. It was really attractive. Therefore, we had decided to take our dinner at Cashbah Food Court which served Authentic curry. The curry dishes served in these food stalls are very special because they are said to be delivered from many parts of the kingdom using the flying carpet from the Disney film, Aladdin. Try out this exotic curry and feel like a hero from The Arabian Nights.

Cost : 1,900 yen

From Maihama Station, take the Disney Resort Monorail to Tokyo Disney Sea Station (10 minutes, 260 yen). Alternatively, you can walk to the park from Maihama Station in about 20 minutes.
