DWP 2022 | Djkarta Warehouse Project

DWP 2022 | DJAKARTA WAREHOUSE PROJECT
And here comes the post about DWP 2022 aka Djakarta Warehouse Project. I always wanted to attend this biggest rave party in Southeast Asia but always missed the chance due to the limited annual leaves. Thank god, I managed to participate in 2022 and I'm glad I did! Well, "we" did because my hubby went with me lol. Continue reading to check out more details and don't forget to watch the vlog at the bottom part for the live performances from the DJs.

DWP 2022
DWP 2022 line up
 ( Lineup )
For your info, Djakarta Warehouse Project began its journey in 2008 as merely a club event that took place in Jakarta's renowned Blowfish club called Blowfish Warehouse Project.

The festival upholds one of the most consequential values that Indonesia possesses; diversity. A wide spectrum of sub-genres under the dance music category are given a platform through the multiple stages in the festival, one of them being the bird-shaped main stage called "Garuda Land" inspired by the country's coat of arms, Garuda Pancasila.

Throughout its ten editions, some of the world's biggest acts have graced the stages of Djakarta Warehouse Project including Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Carl Cox, Skrillex, Tiesto, Diplo, Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Axwell x Ingrosso, and DJ Snake, amongst many.

You can see I have attached the lineup in the photo above. However, I wouldn't be covering all the DJs here because we missed some of the performances during break time such as toilet break, supper, taking a rest and sitting down etc. The DJs that I had featured here were the ones that we catch them live performances.

Day 1
It's been a while since we attended a rave party, so we are so excited! We reach there super early on the first day (around 5pm++) and we explore everything before we go to the main stage Garuda Land. We check the food stalls, and other booths such as JBL, Spotify, Durex, Heneiken and so on. Since we were super early on that day, so we managed to secure the front row and take a closer look at the stage.

Dipha Barus
DJ, composer, and producer, Dipha Barus is one of Indonesia's most well-known musicians. With a multi-genre upbringing in music, he's now shifting from initially pop-sounding songs to more house-heavy tunes while continuing to showcase his roots by implementing traditional Indonesian elements.

In 2016, he released the tropical, festive-feeling track "No One Can Stop Us" featuring singer Kallula, rewarding Dipha with his first Anugerah Musik Indonesia Award (AMI) for Best Music Production. The 017 follow-ups "All Good" featuring folk singer Nadin Amizah saw Dipha strengthen his signature on Spotify's Global Viral 50 charts and Apple Music's Beats 1.

NERVO
From songwriters to artists and super-fans to superstars, electronic dance music's first sisters - Mim and Liv Nervo of NERVO have staged a miraculous climb onto the international stage, straight from the pit in front of it.

These multi-talented DJ dynamos are the all-time top-ranking female DJs in the world, voted by their legions of fans to No.16 on DJ Magazine's influential "Top 100 DJs" poll while continuing to rank as the top female DJs in the world today. In-demand and beloved across the globe, their nonstop schedule takes them from the shimmering beaches of Ibiza to their studio in their home-away-from-hometowns of London and LA, to the towering Main Stages of the biggest festivals in the world including Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Creamfields, Balaton Sound, EDC, Electric Zoo, ULTRA and many more. Everywhere they go, their infectious energy, fearless personal style, and deep love and understanding for the music precede them.

I had been listening to their music since I was 18. I am always impressed by how they got so far especially as female DJs in the industry. It's not easy at all but they did it. It is so happy that I was able to meet them in real life and at that moment I was in the front row so we are so close to each other!

Hardwell
Throughout his expansive career as a successful DJ, producer, remixer, label boss, filmmaker, and philanthropist, former 2 x World No.1 DJ, Hardwell has carved out a long-lasting legacy within the electronic music world.

Hailing proudly from Breda, a city tucked deep within the Netherlands, Hardwell's journey began at 14, becoming a much sought-after artist on the Dutch dance scene before international attention began to pour in. Fast forward some ten years, and Hardwell, aged 25, capped off a perennial journey when he was first crowned World's #1 DJ in 2013.

His appeal as a producer would catapult his status amongst fans and peers. Hardwell would earn countless Beatport No.1's with releases like "Spaceman", "Apollo" and "Run Wild" through his dancefloor singles. Whilst remixing for many of pop music's biggest names, including Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Moby, U2, J Balvin and Coldplay.

Unfortunately, we missed DJ Snake's performance. We were so tired on the first day because we went there too early and put up so much energy as we stood in the front row lol. Since both of us are not a fan of DJ Snake so we head to our hotel earlier than we expected.

Day 2
Day 2's lineup is better because of Lost Frequencies, uro Tra$h and Armin Van Buuren! My hubby is a fan of Lost Frequencies and uro Tra$h so he is really excited. On the other hand, I would like to catch Armin Van Buuren's live because he is one of the best DJs in the world.

Patricia Schuldtz
Patricia has been considered one of the pioneers of female DJs in Indonesia. She rose to the top of the RnB Jakarta scene back in 2001 while she was still studying in Australia. After years in the Hip Hop industry, with eclectic sounds from RnB, Soul, Classics, and Reggaeton, she decided to broaden her genre into House. Ever since then, she held more gigs around Indonesia's major clubs in over 25 cities, around Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia, and played alongside international DJs.

Weird Genius
Weird Genius is an Indonesian DJ and record production group based on Pop music, EDM, and synth-pop consisting of three members Reza Oktovian, Eka Gustiwana, and Gerald Liu. This group was formed in 2016 and released its first song in 2017 with the title DPS.

From their earlier tracks, they've swirled together past and present in delirious dancefloor ecstasy, but their 2020 hit "LATHI" pushes this philosophy to another level. They looked to their country's cultural traditions and wove gamelan melodies and Sinden, a style of singing from the island of Java, into their euphoric electronics and hedonistic drops. The sounds quickly took on a life of their own.

After taking off on TikTok, the song became the longest-running number-one single on Spotify Indonesia. It eventually won three awards at AMI - the Indonesian GRAMMs, essentially and netted the group a deal with Astralwerks.

This is my first time hear about them but to be honest, their music is awesome! I'm surprised. They are talented and I can't wait to explore more about their music.

Lost Frequencies
Felix De Laet, better known by his moniker Lost Frequencies, has scored success in the international music industry on many levels. The name "Lost Frequencies" was first used when De Laet used old songs, which he calls Lost Frequencies' to make remixes when he started the project.

Born on 30 November 1993, he is a Belgian DJ and record producer. He is best known for his singles "Are You With Me" in 2014, "Reality" in 2015, and "Where Are You Now" with Calum Scott in 2021. In 2014, Lost Frequencies made a remix of country artist Easton Corbin's "Are You With Me". The song had originally appeared in Corbin's second studio album - All Over The Road but had not been released as a single.

Lost Frequencies remixed the song and uploaded it to SoundCloud. Armada Music A&R and founder of The Bearded Man label, Marwen Tlili discovered the record and subsequently signed it. The official release was on 27 October 2014. The track topped Belgium's Ultratop chart on 15 November 2014, reaching number two in the Walloon chart as well. In 2015, the single peaked at the top of the charts in Australia and Austria. It was also charted in several countries in Europe, reaching the top 10 in Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Sweden and Turkey.

uro Tra$h
uro Tra$h belongs in those underground warehouse parties where one loses track of all time and becomes one with the music. With a gruelling backdrop of bass-infused kick drums and enticing vocals, listeners begin to go into a trance-like state to keep them dancing all night long.

As high-pitched frequencies and elements of distortion begin to shift levels, uro Tra$h are proving they are a true force to not take lightly in the music scene. Further inspiring those to experiment with several different genres and go beyond their comfort zone, Yellow Claw is always riding their own wave such as their past single "DRXGS" featuring stunning vocals from Sara Fajita. Proving they really can do it all, uro Tra$h's lead collaboration is about to be played on repeat all summer long.

Armin Van Buuren
Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Leiden, South Holland. Since 2001, he has hosted the State of Trance, a weekly radio show, which is broadcast to nearly 40 million listeners in 84 countries on over 100 FM radio stations. For more than twenty years, the Grammy-nominated Dutchman has been living to the rhythm of his own international success.

Armin has had the privilege of performing at some of the world's biggest and best festivals, clubs, events and shows. One of the highlights of his career was Armin's performance for the newly crowned King and Queen of the Netherlands in 2013, Willem-Alexander and Maxima. Together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and in front of the monarchs and 15,000 fans, he performed both "The Bolero" as well as an orchestral version of the title track from his "Intense" album. During the "Koningsvaart" (a special, cultural boat trip through the city of Amsterdam), the King and Queen surprised both the crowd and Armin by getting on stage and dancing along with him.

Day 3
Today is the last day of DWP and the most exciting day because there are two of my favourite DJs are playing tonight which are Yellow Claw and Martin Garrix! I supposed to attend Martin Garrix's live performance a few years back but unfortunately, I was not available on that day so I missed it. Thank god I had the chance to catch him live again this time.

W.W
William Wijaya, as we know by the name of DJ W.W Started his DJ career not so long ago, in 2005 when he was still the young age of 19 years old. Just recently he joined a big production called Trigger Production, where he shares his passion for music that drove him all the way up to where he is now.

After rockin' the Indo HipHop club scene, from Jakarta to Bandung all the way to the Islands of Gods (Bali), for more than 6 years now, he has become well known as one of the finest HipHop DJs in Jakarta. He has rocked the decks with his unique style at clubs.

BEAUZ
American DJ / producer duo BEAUZ is composed of brothers Bernie and Johan. With Indonesian and Chinese blood flowing through their veins, they carved their own destiny to not only become the first artists in their family, but also an undeniable force to be reckoned with in the EDM and Pop world.

Proving themselves to be virtuosos of music production, the duo quickly caught the attention of top power players in the industry, landing them multiple official remixes. Their ever-evolving production prowess eventually birthed collaborations with renowned EDM titans including Blasterjaxx, Krewella, Adventure Club, and most recently, their mentor Zedd and country crossover superstar Maren Morris.

In 2019, BEAUZ released the genre-bending Count The Hours with Armada, which became viral on Douyin and kicked off the duo's first international tour spanning across North America and Asia. BEAUZ then collaborated with Spinnin Records to release Feel The Light as the first record on the new imprint Spinnin' Asia, positioning the duo as the godfathers of Psypop.

Yellow Claw
Yellow Motherf**king Claw! They are the main reason why I came to this rave party! I have been listening to their songs since years ago. It was unreal when I watch them live in front of me. All their songs are amazing and every single drop is freaking dope!

For your info, Yellow Claw is a Dutch DJ and record production duo from Amsterdam consisting of Jim Taihuttu, based in Bali and Nils Rondhuis based in Amsterdam. The duo's music is a mix of a wide range of genres and often incorporates elements from trap, hip hop, dubstep, hardstyle and moombahton.

Yellow Claw first gained popularity in the middle of 2010, after founding and hosting a night party at one of Amsterdam's most famous nightclubs, the Jimmy Woo. During 2012 and 2013, they released a number of successful singles, which charted on the Dutch and Belgian national charts : "Krokobil", "Nooit Meer Slapen", "Thunder" and "Last Night Ever". The music videos for the singles became popular, each gaining over a million views on YouTube.

Martin Garrix
Martijn Gerard Garritsen, known professionally as Martin Garrix and Ytram and GRX, is a Dutch disc jockey and music producer who was ranked number one on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years - 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Garrix gained fame through his solo release, "Animals", which was released on 16 June 2013. The single became a hit in several countries in Europe and allowed Garrix to become the youngest person to reach number one on Beatport. The track appears on Dutch DJ Hardwell's album, Hardwell presents "Revealed Volume 4".

I almost want to cry when I saw him in real person. Most of the songs he playing was my jam during my uni life. I used to listen to his songs when I'm doing my assignment. Aghhh...time flies and I feel so old right now hahaha. Well, great memories~

That's a wrap! Don't forget to watch the vlog below for more details. I know it is a bit long. I guess it is the longest video in on YouTube Channel hahaha. But trust me, I already tried my best to "trim out the fat" while I'm editing the video. I just don't wan to missed any footages of my great time and keep it as a memory. Hopefully, you guys enjoy watching it and I finally have time to focus on my Japan Food Vlog omg. Ciao~
