Shtastliveca is one of the most popular restaurants in Veliko Tarnovo, offering a delightful fusion of traditional Bulgarian cuisine and European flavours in a stylish, vintage-inspired setting. Perched on a hill with a stunning view of the Yantra River and Tsarevets Fortress, this restaurant combines exceptional food with a cosy, elegant atmosphere.

The menu features a wide variety of dishes—from hearty stews and grilled meats to fresh salads and homemade desserts—all beautifully plated. The name Shtastliveca means "The Lucky One," and that’s exactly how you’ll feel after dining here.

For the appetiser, we had hot chicken soup served with pita bread. The main course included chicken, mashed potatoes, and rice. Unfortunately, the rice was too wet for my liking. For dessert, we had a blueberry cheesecake.

Inside, the cathedral is just as impressive, featuring beautiful frescoes, marble columns, and a serene atmosphere perfect for quiet reflection. It’s not only a place of worship but also a powerful reminder of Bulgaria’s path to liberation and identity.

Just for your information, photography and videography are not allowed inside the cathedral, so please take note. I didn’t take any photos or videos due to this policy, but I can assure you — the interior is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
