Oriental Kopi, Bandar Puteri Puchong

ORIENTAL KOPI 华阳 @ BANDAR PUTERI PUCHONG
Dai ga hou! Today I'm sharing about one of the restaurants that I have visited lately which is Oriental Kopi 华阳 located in Bandar Puteri Puchong. As an authentic Ipohian, I always have a thing with Kopitiam. Traditional Kopi, Kaya Butter Toast and Chicken Hor Fun are my thing, I literally grew up eating these. Thus, when I knew I got the opportunity to try their food, I really looked forward to it. Continue reading to find out more about our dining experience.

Our Dining Experience

Yes, here is the food just for me and my husband. Hahaha~ And we finished them all (except for the egg tart because we took away the remaining).

Want to find out which is our favourite dish? Scroll down to find out now!

Oriental Kopi | RM5.30
Finally, get to try the popular Oriental Kopi. My husband is a huge fan of kopi and he always prefers the oriental instead of the Western one. He likes it. Like the aroma, smells so good when we take a sip. Definitely worth trying.

Kaya Butter Toast | RM4.20
A traditional Kaya Butter Toast is a perfect match with the oriental kopi. We all knew this pair was going well together. I personally think the butter portion is a bit much for me, but who knows, maybe you will love it.

Oriental Mocha | RM10.90
For people who love cocoa (like me), this oriental mocha drink is a must-order! Check out the "explosion", just makes you want to try it once they serve it on the table. For those who don't like a strong coffee drink, you may order this.

Oriental Roasted White Coffee | RM6.50
The difference between this and the Oriental Kopi would be the taste. The aroma of the Roasted White Coffee is stronger. If you want the "kaw kaw" taste and scent, you may like this.

Oriental Egg Tart (6pcs Free 1) | RM28.80
Ta-da! The hottest and star item in the house - Oriental Egg Tart! My husband is a huge fan of egg tart (probably his favourite Chinese dessert) so he's looking forward to trying this! Oriental Kopi kitchen team is using premium butter here so you can taste the buttery custard when you take the first bite. I love how flaky the pastry is. The texture was almost similar to the crossiant. Too bad we can't finish it as we are so full, so we take away the remaining. Will revisit for the egg tart.

Oriental Polo Bun | RM5.90
Polo bun is another signature dish of them. Whenever I travel to Hong Kong, Polo Bun is a must-try dish for me. I like how they serve the Polo Bun with the butter and condensed milk on the side so we can control the portion. There are some restaurants that serve the Polo Bun with too little or too much butter so the portion is often off. I like how crispy on the outside and how soft inside.

Oriental Chicken Hor Fun | RM13.90
The silky Hor Fun and the soup base are just nice. However, the prawn was a bit undercooked for me but it's still good. If they cook it for 1-2 minutes more will be better. Other than that, everything is good.

Oriental Signature Nasi Lemak | RM14.90
When it comes to Malaysian dishes, how can we miss the popular nasi lemak? This is my first time seeing a poached egg laying on top of nasi lemak, normally they served hard-boiled egg or fried egg. The fried chicken was huge! The Nasi Lemak is not the usual one that you eat because they put some spices into the rice. The portion is a bit big for us so make sure to share with your loved one if you are a small eater.

Oriental Signature Mee Siam | RM14.90
Again, first time I have seen a poached egg to pair with mee siam hahaha. At first, we thought the mee siam was a bit dry but when we cut the egg and the york somewhat "moisturised" the noodles, we were thinking okay, now the texture is fine. We like the sambal as well.

Penang Char Kuey Teow | RM13.90
The final main course would be the Penang Char Kuey Teow. Served with two big prawns on top. It tastes not bad and I personally like the long fish cakes (hubby said I'm weird because I focus on the fish cakes lol) Normally they cut it into like shorter shape but I really appreciate the long shape here hahaha.

Overall, I think the food and beverages here are worth trying (especially the Egg Tart). Oriental Kopi always has a long queue outside of the restaurant. Therefore, if you are interested in paying a visit, remember to go there early to avoid the long queue.
