The Hungry Tapir, Petaling Street

THE HUNGRY TAPIR, PETALING STREET

Hello readers! I'm back with a food post to share with you all. Although we are encouraged to stay home unless it's necessary to go out. But if you really do hang out, please follow the SOP strictly and stay safe. Last weekend, I and hubby went to The Hungry Tapir which located in Petaling Street. It has been almost a month since we hang out in a cafe. We stay at home all the time and in fact, I'm working from home so imagine it. It always great to hang out for a while but of course, I will suggest you guys don't go out frequently unless it is necessary.

About The Hungry Tapir.
For your info, The Hungry Tapir is the only vegan and vegetarian restaurant with a full-service bar located in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur with local favourites all-day brekkie all powered by plants! This beautiful new restaurant could become KL's next natural habitat for vegans and vegetarians, as well as the rest of us who relish the flavours of the earth's harvests, coupled with Sabah-inspired craft rice wine cocktails. The Hungry Tapir is also a great place to come for cocktails and wine. Not a fan? No worries, there are plenty of smoothies and hot drinks too.

Interior.

It's no surprise that this venue will be love at first sight for many since founder Cynthia Rodrigo specialises in interior design.

I love the environment here. So rustic and plants are everywhere.

My favourite corner would be the one outside. Yes, this pinky corner melts my heart! I would say it might not a great spot to sit here for hang out in day time because it's quite hot.

However, I would say this spot is definitely instaworthy thou.

It might be a great spot to drink cocktails and chill with friends during night time. I guess I need to revisit again to find out.

Luckily, this corner is better with the heats. Don't get me wrong, actually, they are plenty of seats inside the cafe but we decided to sit here because of the lighting. Great lighting always leads to great photos.

The staff is so friendly to put a big standing fan here because she worries we will feel very hot by sitting here. Thank god for the big fan and we feel better. Kudos to the staff.

Food.

Plant Power Big Brekkie (RM28)
Served with smoked tempeh, scrambled tofu, homemade brekkie beans, garlic mushrooms, hummus, spinach and sourdough.

Although I thought the spinach was a little bit salty, overall I think it tastes great especially the hummus.

Rainbow Ulam Fried Rice (RM23)
Fragrant wok-fried rice in a colourful vegetable party, papadum, achar and hedgehog mushroom skewer.

Hubby ordered this and finished in flash. Guess he thinks it was good.

Sangria (RM26)
Spanish red wine, orange, grapefruit, apple. It was basically sweetened red wine packed with fresh fruit. Their sangrias are the perfect refreshing drink for parties or special occasions.

Piccolo Coffee
Hubby ordered this cute cup of Piccolo coffee. If you're wondering why there's a Halloween pumpkin foam here, that's because we visited during Halloween. So cute right?

Overall, I will definitely revisit this place. Maybe I will pay a visit at night time so I can enjoy the cocktails here with my friends. The staff here are extremely friendly and the foods are not bad.
