Shini in Singapore

SHINI IN SINGAPORE

I couldn't believe I have been visited Singapore for so many times and I never blog about my trip to Singapore before. I know right~ Most of the time, I went there for working purpose so I don't really explore and enjoy much. This post wouldn't be informative like the usual travelogue that I did. I just want to record my "Shini In Singapore" on my blog. So when I get older and having a bad memory, I can always refer to my blog for knowing the old days. Feel free to visit my Instagram profile @shinilola and check out the highlight called "Singapore." to find out more. Or you can search the hashtag #ShiniInSingapore too.

Explore.
My latest trip to Singapore was in February 2019. I was supposed to travel to Singapore in March 2020 for my best friend's wedding. Of course, due to the COVID-19 issue, the flight was cancelled. Thus, allow me to continue my last trip. It was a business trip actually. I was accompanied by some of the staff from the agency during my flight to Singapore.

The PRs has meeting to attend so they asked me to walk around or stay at the hotel to take a rest.

Well, of course, I wouldn't choose to stay in the hotel for the whole day right?

Before I had arrived, I already contacted one of my Singapore friend Zippy to hang out with me. So I won't be alone on the first day (the event is on the second day).

He was kind enough to show me around. He is a talented photographer so here are the photos that taken by him.

Some of you DM me requesting the location of the photo. To be honest, I really no idea where is it because basically I just follow my friend to walk around.

When we finished the photo shoot and decided to have a tea-break. We saw a man committed suicide in front of us by jumping off the building. I was shocked because it's my first time saw something like this in the city.

It was surprising that my friend said it's a normal thing that happened in Singapore. I guess people who work here are really stressful.

Food.

Once we arrived in Singapore, the agency brought me to the Japanese Restaurant Suju which located in Mandarin Orchard Singapore. Since the owner of the agency is Japanese, so she takes it very seriously when we talk about Japanese food.

The food was so delicious! We had a pleasant meal. I also learn one or two Japanese words all thanks to the owner of the agency! It's always great to learn something new every day. Thanks for the lovely meals though.

Although I have been to Singapore for so many times, guess what, I haven't tried this traditional ice cream sandwich in Singapore before. Well, I did try it in Malaysia before. In fact, it was one of my childhood snacks when I was a kid. My Indonesian friend insisted me to try this. He said if I never try this, I never been to Singapore before. Hmmm... maybe he doesn't know Malaysia got tons of food like this as well. Lol. There are tons of flavour and the one that I had chosen was my favourite flavour - Chocolate Mint.

Meeting friends.

Although I'm from a small town called Ipoh, but I got many hometowns friends in Singapore! It is always great to meet them here as they are working hard here in Singapore so they rarely go back to Malaysia. We only meet a few times a year. Having our dinner at Coco Ichibanya and we have so much to chat about.

I knew these girls for 16 years! Can you believe it? They are my bridesmaids as well during my wedding.

After finished our dinner, we went to Wine Connection for our second round. We basically just chill and talk about our high school life on those days. We miss our life in school where we no need to stress about our career, future or money. I was at the outside for the whole day after I had check-in my hotel in the morning. We drink until midnight and my friend Rachel sent me back to the hotel. I was exhausted but fun at the same time. After showered straight on the bed because I got to wake up early in the morning on the next day for the event.

Events.

So, you guys must be curious what is the event that I'm talking about all the time in this post. I was invited by the Hokkaido Tourism to share the threat and technology information of Japan with my followers. There are influencers from Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore to attend this event. And I'm honoured that I represented Malaysia for attending this event. After the event, I was going out to have lunch with my Indonesian friend and shop for a while before we heading back to the hotel. We went to Changi Airport together but of course, he was going back to Jakarta and I was going back to Malaysia alone. It was a great experience and I can't wait to back to my business trip after the pandemic is over.
