Tokyo, Japan Trip 2022 东京日本旅游

TOKYO, JAPAN TRIP 2022 东京日本旅游
Sorry for keeping you guys waiting! I was supposed to blog about this once I finished my Kyoto post but I have to share the Beige Alain Ducasse post with you guys first hahaha. It was one of the highlights of this trip yo. The title of this post is just simply Tokyo, Japan Trip 2022, I blogged about Tokyo a couple of times and I don't know what to name this one. Today, I'm gonna share with you all about the attractions, some food recommendations and accommodations in Tokyo.

Access from Narita Airport to the Tokyo city
from Narita Airport to the Tokyo city

Every time whenever I want to go to the Tokyo city area from Narita Airport, I always take the train. But then I found out, actually, the bus ride is way cheaper and more convenient!

Airport Bus TYO-NRT buses operate multiple times per hour between Narita Airport, Tokyo Station and Ginza Station. The one-way fare is around 1,000 yen.

You can purchase the bus ticket at the right side of the arrival gate. Then you have to queue and the driver will help you carry the luggage into their storage. It's free seating so make sure to queue early.

Attractions
Tokyo Tower
Tokyo Tower

The Tokyo Tower is a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-koen district of Minato, Tokyo. At 332.9 meters, it is the second-tallest structure in Japan. A symbol of Japan's post-war rebirth as a major economic power, Tokyo Tower was the country's tallest structure from its completion in 1958 until 2012 when it was surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree.

The closet subway stations to Toyko Tower are Onarimon Station on the Mita Subway Line, Akabanebashi Station on the Oedo Subway Line and Kamiyacho on the Hibiya Subway Line, which is all about a 5-10 minute walk from the tower. Alternatively, you can reach the tower in about a 15-20 minute walk from Hamamatsucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line or Daimon Station on the Asakusa or Oedo subway lines.

Sensoji Nitenmon
Sensoji Nitenmon

Sensoji (浅草寺) also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is one of Tokyo's most colourful and popular temples. Sensoji was built nearby for the goddess of Kannon. The temple was completed in 645, making it Tokyo's oldest temple.

When approaching the temple, visitors first enter through the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), the outer gate of Sensoji Temple and the symbol of Asakusa and the entire city of Tokyo.

Sensoji Nitenmon

A shopping street of over 200 meters, called Nakamise, leads from the outer gate to the temple's second gate, the Hozomon. Alongside typical Japanese souvenirs such as yukata and folding fans, various traditional local snacks from the Asakusa area are sold along the Nakamise. The shopping street has a history of several centuries.

Omikuji are written fortunes offer at shrines and temples in Japan. Usually, omikuji require a small offering like 100 yen and are chosen randomly from a box. Pick up an omikuji to try your luck.

And I found this when I was walking around! Japanese strawberry candy is juicy strawberries coated with amazingly delicate and crispy candy coating. This special treat from Japan is fun to make and so tasty! Something like 冰糖葫芦 but a Japanese version.

Tsukiji Outer Market
Tsukiji Outer Market

Tsukiji Outer Market (筑地场外市场) also known as Tsukiji Jogai Shijo is a district adjacent to the site of the former Tsukiji Wholesale Market. It consists of a few blocks of wholesale and retail shops, as well as restaurants crowded along narrow lanes. Here you can find fresh and processed seafood and food-related products such as knives etc.

We took our sinful breakfast at Tsukiji Magoemon (筑地右卫门). It is a humble small shop which provides a variety of fresh seafood. We tried uni, tuna and ikura don, tempura don, maguro nirigi,  maguro tempura, mentaiko tempura etc.

Everything is so fresh and yummy! How I wish my breakfast is like this every day (but my cholesterol will be overloaded) lol.

There is a stall that is selling uni + beef and it became popular lately! Since I don't eat beef, so I didn't take it. But my colleagues said it is delicious. There are also some oyster sampling which is very huge and fresh.

A visit to Tsukiji Outer Market is best combined with a fresh sushi breakfast at one of the local restaurants. The restaurants are typically open from 5.00am to around noon. Because most of the fish served and sold at Tsukiji Outer Market is delivered directly from Toyosu Market, this is one of the best places in Tokyo to enjoy fresh seafood.

Kabukicho
Kabukicho

Kabukicho (歌舞伎町) is a famous entertainment district best known for adult-oriented nightlife. Small clubs, smoky pubs, and late-night snack bars are crammed into lantern-lit alleys in Golden Gai. Robot Restaurant hosts kitschy sci-fi dinner shows, while rock bands play at Marz and Ashibe Hall. Daytime visitors can dress up in warrior armour at the Samurai Museum and learn sneaky feudal combat tactics at the Ninja Trick House.

Can't share more photos here because some of them are quite sexy lol.

Omoide Yokocho
Omoide Yokocho

Landmark alleyway featuring a selection of food stalls for simple fare and alcoholic drinks.

Omoide Yokocho (思い出横丁), located at the west exit of Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, is a nostalgic atmosphere of the old days. It has its roots in a street vendor market that was built in a burnt field immediately after the war.

Omoide Yokocho

Currently, there are approximately 80 shops, including about 60 restaurants, mainly motsuyaki (grilled offal) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) shops, and ticket shops. It has become a popular spot.

We pay a visit to one of the restaurants to take our dinner/supper because we finished our high tea session late. Since we are not that hungry, so we ordered several giant meatballs, okonomiyaki, chicken wing and some high balls. We suppose to try horse meat but they forgot our order so we didn't get the chance.

Shibuya Sky
Shibuya Sky

Shibuya Sky is a new landmark with direct access from and right above Shibuya Station which is also the place that I look forward in this trip.

A 360-degree open-air observation deck located on the roof of the Shibuya Scramble Square skyscraper. Rising to a height of about 230 m, and with 47 floors aboveground, Shibuya Scramble Square is the tallest building in the Shibuya area.

Shibuya Sky

As a new landmark facing the world-famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing, it aims to be a stage for disseminating movement from the heart of Shibuya and giving birth to a new culture based on the concept of "Intermixing, creating, and transmitting to the world".

We also booked a package to enjoy the spectacular city view with some champagne and snacks on the sofa seat. The snacks are a selection of chocolate or peanuts etc. The whole viewing duration is 45 minutes.

Shibuya Sky comprises three zones - Sky Gate (a transitional space on the 14 - 45F ; Sky Stage (an outdoor observation area) ; Sky Gallery (an indoor observation corridor on the 46F).

Park Hotel Tokyo
Park Hotel Tokyo

All guests arriving at the Park Hotel Tokyo will first witness the Atrium, which is one of the largest atriums in Tokyo, spreading through ten floors. Through the glass windows behind the reception counter,  visitors can see the Tokyo Tower, which shows different scenery from day to night. This view is also one of the reasons why I booked this hotel.

Since ancient times, the Japanese had the wisdom to integrate various aspects of nature into daily life. They have an untiring love affair with four seasons (trust me, that's true). At Park Hotel Tokyo, in the areas of ART - Atrium, Restaurant and Travel, they offer their guests a first-hand experience of Japanese aesthetics.

Each room features colour-coordinated curtains and bedcovers, and bathroom amenities including the luxurious THANN Aromatic Wood Collection. Naturally invigorating amenities help to relax the body and mind.

Park Hotel Tokyo is holding an art exhibition throughout the year in the hotel. You can make online purchases of the works of artists who created an "artist room", where pictures are painted directly onto the walls of a guest room.

Park Hotel Tokyo is in Shiodome Media Tower, ideally situated in a flourishing centre of business and culture. Having access points from the B2, 1st and 3rd floors. It is possible to reach the hotel from all the stations in the area via an extensive Pedestrian Deck or the Underground Passage.
