SHINI IN DUBAI : DAY 3 | DESERT SAFARI | ARABIAN TEA HOUSE | MALL OF THE EMIRATES
Hey~ I just came back from Turkey and I can't wait to share my travel itineraries with you all. But first, allow me to complete my Dubai travelogues so you guys can refer. Today's post is about Shini in Dubai Day 3 which highlights include Desert Safari, Arabian Tea House, Mall of the Emirates etc. Enjoy reading~

Desert Safari

If you fancy an early morning desert expedition complete with camels and falcons in the desert, this tour is for you. Escape the city, heading east into the Arabian Desert, boasting spectacular landscapes and rolling sand dunes. The rugged 4x4 Jeep stake off on an adrenalin-filled drive over soft sand dunes and into the wilderness.

The fun continues at our Arabian Desert Campsite where you experience a traditional welcome with "Gahwa", Arabic coffee and local dates. Enjoy sandboarding, brief camel rides and "Shisha", the Arabic water pipe during your journey. Afterwards, a pleasant drive brings you back. Indeed a great way to invigorate your senses with plenty of fun, food and sun.

However, I didn't take the camel ride this time. After the last camel ride, I feel guilty for the camel. I tried to find those desert tours without the camel ride but it is always included. Therefore, I was forced to take this tour and just take photos with the camel instead.

  • A 4-hour morning desert tour by 4x4 with dune bashing and a camel ride
  • Enjoy a dune drive with an expert off-road driver-guide at the wheel
  • Climb up the steep dunes and slip, slide, and skid down the slopes
  • Stop for photos and Arabic coffee and dates, and opt to try an Arabian shisha water pipe

If you are in Dubai, you must visit their desert as it was one of the highlights. There is also a saying if you didn't visit the desert in Dubai, then meaning you're never been here.

Arabian Tea House Restaurant & Cafe

A journey into Dubai's past could well begin through the door of a quaint tea house in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, once known as Al Bastakiya. As you step into the Arabian Tea House (although old-timers would still prefer to call it the Basta Art Cafe), you are transported into the old times, authentic style with turquoise benches, white rattan chairs, lace curtains and beautiful flowers, enjoying your cup of Gahwa (traditional Arabic coffee) in the shade of an old tree and the languid air swoons around you, dreamlike as if it were always afternoon.

Arabian Tea House is the first authentic Emirati restaurant since 1997. I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant before I got here because when I do research on the Internet, there is so much great feedback about their food and hospitality.

When I arrived, I immediately fall in love. Love the vibe, it's so instaworthy!

We had to wait for approximately 15 minutes for a table for two. While we are waiting, I spotted Kate Hudson and Martha Stewart were here before. Now I'm so excited to try their food because I'm pretty sure Martha Stewart won't simply visit a restaurant if they don't serve good food.

Their biryani is one of their signatures so, of course, we got to order that! We ordered a chicken biryani which serve in huge portions and serve with a bowl of yoghurt.

I don't really take biryani when I'm in Malaysia but this is de-li-cious!! We finished them all. Also, we ordered a Sri Lanka coconut and homemade lemonade.

Besides, we ordered a few nann (bread) served with hummus. I like that their bread is slightly thinner than our version in Malaysia. So we won't feel too full (because we still need to finish the biryani).

Check out the nann was bigger than my face hahaha. Even our plate can't fit in.

If I revisit Dubai, I will definitely visit this restaurant again to try other great food!

By the way, some of you asked me about the pocket wifi that I have been using. It is from Roamingman. It is so convenient and affordable (RM20/day). Don't forget to check it out if you're planning to rent one.

Mall Of The Emirates

The Mall of the Emirates provides unrivalled luxury, with more than 80 of the world's most renowned designer brands. The mall has two adjoining hotels; the 5-star Kempinski Mall of the Emirates and the Sheraton Dubai Nall of the Emirates Hotel.

The stores are essentially the same, except there are more high-end brands at Dubai Mall. Dubai Mall is larger and has the Aquarium, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountains, all are nice attractions to take in addition to shopping. Mall of the Emirates has Ski Dubai.

Of course, I have to visit my favourite luxury brand - CHANEL. There's only one store in Malaysia and they always have limited stocks. I want to pay a visit to the store in Dubai to see any other items that aren't available in KL so I can purchase them.

And yes, I did it! Bought a few items here that I can't find in the Malaysia boutique (due to limited stocks). The services here were good and not to mention cheaper due to the tax refund.

I can't wait to show you guys the unboxing video soon. Stay tuned on my YouTube Channel!

The Dubai Edition

The Dubai Edition marks a significant expansion for the brand into the Middle East's most popular travel destination. Situated in Downtown Dubai, the hotel is located in one of the city's most popular locations, opposite the world-famous Dubai Mall.

Designed by LW Design Group, the hotel features 275 guestrooms and suites. The property is home to multiple food and beverage outlets, a pool, spa and fitness centre, in addition to dynamic events spaces boasting meeting rooms and a flexible ballroom.

There are tons of fancy hotel rooms in Dubai and I don't know which one is the best! Found this from the recommendation list and decided to give it a try.

Turns out it was a wise decision! The room is comfy, the interior was spectacular, the location is strategic, staff are so friendly.

Did I mention for the toiletry they are using Le Labo? Love using their shower gel and hair shampoo, especially their fragrance!

Thia Skylounge

Step into a realm of lush greenery, exquisite service, and multi-sensory opulence, set against the majestic vistas of Downtown Dubai. Thia is your vantage point over the city with panoramic views of Burj Khalifa. Here, high-octane glamour and effortless sophistication imbue each moment with timeless elegance and enduring grace.

Both intimate and expansive, Thia invites you to luxuriate in Dubai's most spectacular infinity pool, where relaxation accompanies breathtaking views and urbane chic. As night falls, the ambience increases. Sun loungers become sofas, and the atmospheric lighting and music accentuate the essence of bliss.

One of the reasons why I had chosen this hotel is because of this lounge! We like this cosy lounge facing the beautiful city view. Spot the spectacular Burj Khalifa from here too.

While we are taking photos in the cabana, one of the staff asked what's my occupation because I'm posing like a supermodel lol. Maybe she just trying to be nice as I don't think my body shape is qualified.

Diners will be enveloped in an ever-changing artistic display beneath 15-metre vaulted cathedral ceilings. Embodying the sheer theatricality of fine dining, the restaurant provides a stage from which unforgettable sensory voyages will be launched. Duomo promises to take classic Italian cuisine to entirely new heights of wonder.

When I'm browsing their website and I saw this Italian restaurant, my mind was like okay, I got to visit this restaurant to try the food. To be honest, my truffle risotto was scrumptious. The chef was generous to put a lot of truffles on the plate. The porcini mushroom and parmesan were perfectly matched with the acquerello rice.

Again, if you're sitting outside like we were, you can spot the Burj Khalifa from here as well.
