Bali Trip Day 4 (巴厘岛之旅)

BALI TRIP DAY 4 (巴厘岛之旅)
Finally, here comes the final post of my Bali trip. I know I took months to complete my Bali trip posts but I tried my best, especially when I needed to handle my new house and wedding in the same period. I really hope my beloved readers don't mind (giving hugs and kisses). Today, it's all about the beautiful island - Nusa Penida and some of the instaworthy cafes - Mad Pops, Neon Palm, and Nalu Bowl

Nusa Penida.

Nusa Penida is the largest and most exotic of the 3 Nusa islands, thanks to its collection of unique Hindu temples and picturesque natural features of cliff formations and lagoons.

More recently, the island became best known as the new sanctuary of the once-endangered Bali starling (originally an endemic species from the forested region of West Bali National Park) following a highly successful captive breeding program.

Finally, I got to visit the popular "T-rex head" in Nusa Penida. I always saw the beautiful photos taken here on Instagram. By the way, it really looks like a T-rex though.

Nusa Penida measures over 200 sq km which is significantly larger than the popular Nusa Lembongan and its accessible sister island, Nusa Ceningan. Lesser-traveled compared to the other 2, Nusa Penida has a very limited number of hotels and tourist features. Even so, what it lacks in infrastructure, it makes up for with unspoiled natural beauty and rare cultural highlights.

Close to Penida's white-sand beach of Crystal Bay, divers enjoy one of Bali's best dive sites, where pristine coral reefs and Mola mola fish (also known as oceanic sunfish), manta rays and even whale sharks are among the seasonal sights. Besides diving in Nusa Penida, you can also find great visibility for snorkelling right near the shoreline. Some local shops selling refreshments right on the beach make for wonderful chill-out spots with sunset views.

Nearby, there's an Angel's Billabong with its vast lagoon revealed by waves after high tide. Some visitors brave the descent for a dip and some out-of-this-world holiday photos, but it's a treacherous descent, so this is not advised.

Frankly, this island is worth visiting! We booked a half-day tour with our tour guide.

Mad Pops.

Mad Pops is a dairy-free ice cream or gelato shop located in Seminyak.

Read some great reviews about this shop so we decided to pay a visit. There are 2 branches in Bali and the one we went to was located in Seminyak.

Ice Ice baby~
I chose the raspberry flavour and it tastes so good!

Neon Palms.
There are not many things people enjoy more in Bali than shopping and drinking cocktails. At Neon Palms you can do both under the same tropical roof in the heart of Seminyak. You’ll find Neon Palms located on the second level above the super cute Bali Boat Shed boutique - enter via the pink door.

The beautiful venue is the perfect space for your next private event and has already been host to some of the most stunning & fun parties on the island. Think cocktails & canapés out on the deck, an intimate tropical dinner party, or going wild with a DJ, dance floor & drinks party.

I'm totally in love with the interior! Everything looks so chic!

Every corner was so instaworthy! I just simply took a few photos and it turns out so pretty!

Neon Palms boasts a long list of delicious cocktails, tacos, and delectable tapas-style food.

We had ordered palms breaky salad, all the tacos (name has been forgotten), Bintang beer and chocolate ice blended.

The tacos tasted great but I don't really like the salad thou. Overall, a great place for photo purposes.

Nalu Bowl.
Nalu Bowls source all of its ingredients daily on the beautiful island of Bali. Infusing the taste of the local dragon fruit, fresh coconut flesh, mango, papaya, spinach, and banana. You can see their bowls are healthy and delicious.

The waffle looks so promising, so we decided to give it a try.

Love those berries and cookies as a topping but the waffle is a little bit dense for us (using coconut cream I guess), not the usual buttercream. But who knows, maybe you will love it.

Maverick Bowl

A Nalu Bowl original recipe & Bali's first real Acai Bowl powered by Brazil's most famous superfood! Our secret Acai blend topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, coconut flakes & honey will quickly be your newest healthy addiction.
