Pros & Cons of Online Shopping

PROS & CONS OF ONLINE SHOPPING

I guess almost everyone is familiar with online shop. Or, should I say some of you might prefer to shop online instead of the traditional shopping? Well, at least for me. I always prefer to do online shopping (except for luxury branded stuff) because it has tons of benefits. Today, I would like to talk about the pros & cons of online shopping and feel free to leave a comment if you guys have any other opinions.

I guess we all had to agree, the internet can be a great resource for shoppers looking to expand their choices of products to buy and is an invaluable way to save money. Online stores are highly competitive, not only with other online stores but also with brick-and-mortar competitors.

Although I personally prefer online shopping, however, everything has two sides to it. Same goes to online shop, whenever there are advantages to it, there are disadvantages as well. Therefore, let's find the following for the pros and cons of online shopping :

PROS
  • Don't have to leave home
Due to our busy schedule, online shopping is the better option because we don't have to go out to shop. Basically, we can just shop online at home, cafe or any other place. It is so convenient.

  • The stores are almost never closed
We need to work during day time so it is almost impossible for us to go to the shopping mall. The online stores are almost never closed. Although they might deliver your parcel the next day, you can place your order anytime, even during the midnight.

  • Exclusive coupon codes and promotions
Well, unlike on physical and retail stores, there are more exclusive deals and promotions happening online. What could be happier in shopping discounted items and you could have another way of slashing those prices even more by using these coupon codes. Besides, here are some Shopee promo code and Zalora promo code you could use on your online shopping!

  • Online shoppers save on gas
Since I already mentioned that we can shop online whenever and wherever you are, so we can save on the gas because there's not necessary to drive out.

  • There are no parking hassles
Parking is always an issue for me especially if you're living in a busy city like me. Most of the time I don't like to drive is because it's very hard to find parking. However, with online shopping, there are no parking hassles.

  • Online shoppers rarely have to deal with aggressive salespeople
There's one thing that I don't like about shop at the shopping mall which is I had to deal with aggressive salespeople. Sometimes, when I just enter their store, the salesperson will quickly run to you ask what product range that you're looking for. If you told them you just going to have a look, they will keep promoting their products to you aggressively.

  • Online shoppers do not have to wait in long lines to check out
I hate the long queue. I bet all of you feel the same. Online shopping can definitely skip the long queue (unless you're buying limited edition item, you might need to queue to enter the online page)

  • Many online retailers allow shoppers to post reviews about the products that they purchased
Not sure how is the quality of the product? No worries, most of the e-commerce site, they have the review feature. All you have to do is just run through the review to find out whether it is worth/safe to make a purchase.

CONS
  • Not ideal for time-sensitive products
Well, if you're rushing, for example, you need the item for today or the next day, you might want to buy it at the offline shop. Although the delivery has been improved compared to those days, but still, it needs time to deliver to your doorstep.

  • Online shoppers do not have the ability to physically inspect or try on the items being considered for purchase
Since the online shopping experience is not tangible, so most of the time we really don't know how was the good's quality until we received it. There's a risk for online purchase.

  • Online shoppers do not always know if a site is a legitimate retail store and if is safe to shop
As I said earlier, there's a risk to purchase online. You need to do more research on the site to make sure it is legit and safe. Or else, your credit card details might be stolen. Security is always an issue for online shoppers.

  • Restocking and shipping costs are often charged on returns
After receiving your items but you're not satisfied? Want to return it but shipping costs are on you? Well, that explained why some of the online shoppers rather keep it than return them because they don't want to bear the shipping cost.

If you're a frequent online shopper like me, then you should take note on these pros and cons. Enjoy shopping guys!
