Koh Phangan, Thailand Travelogue

KOH PHANGAN, THAILAND TRAVELOGUE

After visited Koh Tao, our next destination will be Koh Phangan as it just located nearby to Koh Tao. In case you missed my previous Koh Tao Travelogue, you may visit the link here. I always heard there are many things happening in Koh Phangan and I was looking forward to pay a visit with Lomprayah high-speed ferry.

Mae Haad Pier

Mae Haad Pier
The booking I made was for the Lomprayah High Speed Ferry. I booked  all my transportation at www.busonlineticket.co.th.  It was super convenient because after you booked online, all you need to do is just print out the ticket and redeem at the counter.

I arrived at the jetty about half an hour earlier from the departure time, as encouraged. I exchanged the printed voucher to the actual ferry ticket at the counter and the staff provided me with a sticker as well. It is important to stick the sticker, as the staff will recognize where we are heading to according to the sticker colour.

The lady at the counter informed me that we could start to wait at the gate until the boat arrived. When the ferry finally arrived, passengers were escorted to the ferry, while the staff took our luggage for storage. The seating arrangement in the ferry is free seating.

When I looked around, I noticed that ferry was equipped with a toilet, a television, and life-jackets for emergencies. The duration from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan is about 1.5 hours trip.

Thong Sala Pier

Thong Sala Pier
After arrived at Thong Sala Pier in Koh Phangan, remember to take your own luggage beside the pier. You can buy your ticket for the next day at the counter if you haven't. The table shown in the photo include route, depart and arrival time and price as well.

For passengers who already booked a transfer, they can directly depart from there. For those who didn't plan, you may take a tuk tuk (tricycle) after you walk to the main entrance.

The walking distance is about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, if you have any information you would like to get, you can visit Lomprayah counter on the left while you walk to the entrance.

After we had check-in and put our luggage in the room. We thought want to hang out at Haad Rin and take lunch. We walked back to the management office and we saw they provide transfer. You can just inform them where you're heading and pay the price. Since we are heading to Haad Rin, so we pay them 250 baht.

While we are waiting, the staff is friendly enough to served us some snacks and drinks. How thoughtful of them.

Haad Rin Beach
Haad Rin is a peninsular beach area and town on the southern tip of Ko Pha-ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand.  Its two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) to the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) to the north. The famous Full Moon Party takes place on Sunrise Beach each month.

If you're not sure whether you're going to the right place, try to spot the Sunrise Resort signboard. If you're seeing this, go straight up and you will be reach the beach side.

Since both of us are so hungry, we took our lunch at a random restaurant. Boyfie ordered a fried pork with rice and coconut. For me, I had ordered a burger set and lemon shake.

At Haad Rin here, you can do several things as follows :

Top Left - You can either to get a tattoo. I know right, it is pretty crazy but maybe some hardcore tattoo fan might love to get one here. Lol

Top Right - Swimming / just soaked in the swimming pool and make new friends.

Bottom Left - I guess this is the popular bikini shop here because I can see there are few of them here. I even went in and thought to buy some. Unfortunately, I found the pricing is a little bit higher than I expected. So I end up empty hand. Lol

Bottom Right - Haad Rin is all about Full Moon Party! Bought some of the neon colour tops as souvenir and party!

Since the weather is super hot on that day, so I tied my hair and bought a ice cream at 7-eleven to reduce the heat!

Full Moon Party
The Full Moon Party is an all-night beach party that originated in Haad Rin on the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand on the night of, before or after every full moon. It is mostly attended by tourists.

My ex company supposedly to send me here just to experience the Full Moon Party, so I can write an article for them to share with their visitors. Unfortunately, king of Thailand was passed away during our visit to Thailand. Therefore, all parties (full moon and half moon) has been prohibited.

Well, since the party has been canceled, so we had decided to walk awhile, free and easy.

Ahem, you can see how boring we are. We even try to copy the pose from the random wall. Lol. I guess I failed a little bit. I should stand at the center.

Any fan of Bob Mailey here? There a random place (I'm not sure whether it is a cafe / resort / anything) which featured Bob Mailey and reggae culture. Boyfie love it a lot since he love reggae music.

We just keep walking and sight-seeing. If you're afraid you might lost, no worries. There are signboard everywhere to provide direction for you.

While we passing by this restaurant, the burger bundling got our attention! So we decided to dropped by and try their burger.

We saw so many testimonials from the customers which stick on the wall. Most of them are positive feedback and five star reviews. It even makes us craving for it. We had ordered a burger set and mango shake. It was tasty though.

Worth to give it a try guys

Before we head back to our resort, we stopped by at family mart to grab something. Onigiri is a must for me and the Trolli fruit cake reminds me the pizza candy that I used to eat it during my childhood.

My pizza boy! We also take away mushroom and olive pizza as our dinner. Can't wait to try them because they smell good. We even got questioned by a tourist asking us where did we bought them. Lol

If you're looking for toilet, they have a public toilet in the middle of the street. But you need to pay for 20 baht per entry.

After we took tricycle and back to resort. We decided to swim and chill in the swimming pool before our dinner time. Love the place here because it was so quiet here. All we do is just chill.

Dinner time!
What we had here : cup noodles, pizza, beer and green tea.

We love the tom yam flavour cup noodles! Always craving it when we are in Thailand. Slurp! A must try yo.

There are some instructions on how the Internet TV works. You can either play games or watch movies. It is up to you.

There are many features to explore for the Internet TV. It also connected to YouTube. We had chosen some of the movies but it was playing in Thai language and we don't even understand. Lol. So at the end we had choose to watch via YouTube platform.

The next morning, we woke up early to have our breakfast. One night in Akuna Resort cost about RM200+ per night and it included breakfast as well.

We had chosen this table because it was facing the pool (another view) and look chill. Lol

The breakfast served in buffet style.

They have pancakes, baked potato, turkey ham, bread station with jam, pad thai, egg station and so on.

For the egg station, you can choose whether you want omelette, fried, scramble or poached egg.

Special thanks to my fiancé to accompany me in this business trip. I know you're exhausted for the long hours experience in the bus. Lol. Gonna blog about our Surat Thani trip soon.

That's all for today. If you have any questions regarding to Koh Phangan, leave a comment below and I will reply as soon as possible. Till here.
