Greeting from Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna! This was my first time to attend this kind of press conference and it's very informative. The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in collaboration with Bologna Fiere and Cosmetica Italia, with the support of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will be organising Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna Presentation held for the first time in Kuala Lumpur. I'm glad I was invited to attend this conference because it gave me a lot of insight about Cosmoprof and Malaysian beauty industry.


This presentation is held prelude to the world's biggest international trade show for the beauty industry - Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2018. It been an overwhelming and positive response as they have more than 80 participants from the beauty industry, such as skincare, haircare, perfumery, cosmetics, spa, nails, raw materials including packaging.

The presentation is valuable for the beauty industry, professionals and trade businesses to promote the export and import of cosmetics and beauty products. It provides an analysis of the characteristics and changes in both distribution channels and consumer needs, giving business wanting to expand to the European market and worldwide, as well as building a better understanding of the international market. If you're in this industry, I will strongly suggest you to attend this for your better company's future.


ABOUT COSMOPROF

For your info, the 51st edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will take place in Bologna, Italy from 15 - 19 March 2018 at the BolognaFiere exhibition. So, what is Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna? It is represents all the segments of the beauty industry such as perfumery and cosmetics, machinery, raw materials, packaging, contract manufacturing, aesthetics, hair care, nail, wellness and fitness.

At Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2018, companies are able to create new acquisitions, strategic alliances in the international market, and keeping up-to-date on new trends and innovative ideas. Vast numbers of exhibitors, visitors and buyers from overseas are turing this event, year after year, into a proper international "hub" where professionals and decision makers meet to develop their business.

Presentation by Mr. Abu Bakar Yusof, Director of Lifestyle, Lifescience & Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Section, MATRADE mentioned Italian exports of cosmetics to Malaysia amounted to EUR 8.1 million in 2016, making the Southeast Asian nation the 57th largest importer of Italian cosmetics. Furthermore, in 2016, imports of cosmetics from Malaysia reached EUR 1.6 million, with a 326% increase compared to 2015 which strengthened the already sizeable trade between the two counties in the sector and made Italy a more important destination of Malaysian cosmetic products.

I always bought skin care and cosmetic items but I have no idea about the insight about Malaysian beauty industry. Thanks to Mr. Abu Bakar Yusof's presentation, I have a better understanding of the import items.


Mr. Mattia Miglio mentioned how important about Cosmoprof to the people that in beauty industry and showed us some videos of Cosmoprof. The Cosmoprof network today are a huge global community, made of 6,600 beauty companies from 160 countries, over 360,000 professionals from all over the world and $70 million of total revenues in 2016.

Although I don't have the opportunity to attend the Cosmoprof. However, Mr. Mattia showed us some video about Cosmoprof and we can briefly know more about the situation and event.


Presentation by Dr. Baskaran Kosthi, President, Malaysia Association of Wellness & Spa (MAWSPA) tell us some stories about Malaysia's spa and massage business. His presentation is so entertaining and every is laughing. After finished the presentation, we have a pleasant lunch buffet. Special thanks to Cosmoprof for the amazing opportunity!
